I like to do all sorts of things and I like to get maximim use out of everything. I'm the person that will eat the pickles, peppers or jelly and then turn the jar into a drinking glass with no shame. I secretly chortle about gaining twice the use when I do and I never go out buying such silly things as drinking glasses! I definitely had the hand me down thing going with my girls when they were younger and could utilise the clothes of older sisters(Until they got too picky and developed their own fashion themes). I once had a friend many years ago that made rag rugs. For years I was too intimidated by the thought and never gave it a try. I hate to sew, having lost my passion for that in a boxer short factory, and I hate to knit or crochet, having lost my passion for anything that requires repetitive hand movement with tiny things-especially since my hands now hurt fiercely when such things are required. But, I recontemplated rag rugs and decided to give it a go when I found some old jeans that no one wanted hiding in the garage. Lacking any sort of knitting or crocheting implements, I proceeded with my fingers on my first demo. I had to make myself stop tonight before my fingers got too sore, but maybe, just maybe I will finish this thing. The idea of passed around and reconstituted clothes was just too good for me to pass up. Perhaps this first lumpy little thing will look better when it's finished? Maybe Izzy will enjoy it.
